Building Sustainable Livelihoods for Families
Sayam Foundation delivers vocational training, micro-enterprise support, and job placement assistance to help underprivileged youth and families achieve economic independence.
Creating Pathways to Economic Independence
Economic empowerment is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty for India's underprivileged communities. Sayam Foundation's livelihood programs are designed to provide youth and families with the practical skills, entrepreneurial training, and job placement support they need to build sustainable livelihoods and improve their quality of life.
Our comprehensive livelihood intervention covers the entire journey from skill assessment and training to business setup and employment placement. Since 2015, we have supported over 8,000 individuals in establishing sustainable livelihoods, with a placement success rate of 72% within six months of program completion. Our programs span 12 states across India, with dedicated training centers in both rural and urban locations.

Vocational Training Programs
Vocational training is the foundation of our livelihood programs. Sayam Foundation operates 12 dedicated skill development centers across India where youth and adults receive hands-on training in high-demand trades. Our programs are designed to match local market needs, ensuring graduates can immediately apply their skills to earn a living.
Our flagship programs include electrical wiring and maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, welding, automotive repair, computer hardware and networking, mobile phone repair, and solar panel installation. Each program runs for 3-6 months and includes both theoretical knowledge and extensive practical workshop sessions. We provide all tools and materials during training, and graduates receive a certification recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
We have also introduced emerging skill programs in solar energy installation, EV charging station maintenance, and digital marketing — sectors with rapidly growing demand in India. Our construction skills program trains youth in modern building techniques, safety protocols, and project management, preparing them for employment with construction companies and contractors.
Every vocational training program includes modules on financial literacy, workplace communication, safety practices, and entrepreneurial mindset development. We believe that technical skills alone are not sufficient — our graduates need the soft skills and business acumen to succeed in competitive markets.

Micro-Enterprise Development
Micro-enterprise development empowers individuals to become job creators rather than job seekers. Sayam Foundation's Enterprise Development Program provides comprehensive support to aspiring entrepreneurs from underprivileged backgrounds, helping them start and sustain small businesses that generate consistent income.
Our enterprise support model includes business ideation workshops, market feasibility studies, business plan development, registration and licensing assistance, and access to micro-finance and government subsidy programs. Each entrepreneur receives a customized support package based on their chosen business, including starter kits, working capital loans, and six months of post-launch mentorship.
We have successfully supported the establishment of over 2,500 micro-enterprises across diverse sectors including street vending, small retail shops, food businesses, tailoring units, beauty salons, poultry and dairy farming, transportation services, and repair shops. Our entrepreneurs have collectively generated an annual turnover exceeding ₹15 crore, creating employment for over 5,000 additional individuals.
Our group enterprise model enables clusters of 10-15 entrepreneurs to share resources, bulk purchase raw materials, access common production facilities, and collectively market their products. This model has proven particularly effective in rural areas where individual market access is limited, resulting in 30% higher profit margins compared to standalone enterprises.
- ₹15 crore+ annual turnover generated
- 5,000+ additional jobs created by our entrepreneurs
- 88% business survival rate after one year
Job Placement Assistance
Job placement assistance is a critical component of our livelihood strategy. Not every individual wants to or is suited for self-employment — many prefer the stability and benefits of formal employment. Sayam Foundation's Career Services Wing bridges the gap between trained candidates and potential employers through a structured placement process.
We have established partnerships with over 150 companies across manufacturing, construction, hospitality, retail, IT, and service sectors who regularly recruit from our trained candidate pool. Our placement cell conducts regular job fairs, campus interviews, and recruitment drives at our training centers, ensuring candidates have direct access to employment opportunities.
Our pre-placement preparation program includes resume building, interview skills, workplace etiquette, digital communication, and professional networking training. We also provide post-placement support for the first six months, including workplace mentoring, grievance resolution, and career advancement guidance to ensure job retention and growth.
Through our Government Skill India and PMKVY partnerships, we help candidates access government-certified training programs and placement portals. Our candidates have been placed in leading companies including Tata Group, Infosys, Wipro, Reliance, Amazon, Flipkart, and numerous MSMEs across India. The average starting salary for our placed candidates is ₹12,000-18,000 per month, significantly above the minimum wage in most states.
